Naturalist/Expedition Diver

Chris Venus

Chris was raised in Gibraltar moving there at a young age from England. It was there that he developed his love for the ocean and outdoors.

After graduation he was struggling to find a new career path, so he set off to discover more of the world and got caught up in the wonders of travelling. It was while travelling Chris stumbled upon SCUBA diving, being back in the ocean re-ignited his love of the natural world and he quickly worked his way up to being a SCUBA diving instructor.
Wanting to focus more on wildlife education over teaching diving he moved his focus to nature guiding as an astronomy guide and interpretive marine wildlife guide, this paved the way to finding work on his first expedition cruise vessel. Starting as a lecturer/zodiac driver he quickly transitioned to a role running the on-board science program and has recently been working as a submersible pilot. Diving has been a continuous passion in his personal life alongside his work on expedition vessels.
He is excited to combine the two as part of the dive team and have the opportunity to share the wonders of the underwater world with guests in these amazing destinations.
