Eva Prendergast

Eva is a polar scientist, with a particular passion for marine mammals. From narwhals in the Northwest Passage to Type D Orca in the Drake Passage, Eva's inherent love for whales has taken her across all 7 continents in the name of science. She is actively involved in cutting-edge cetacean research such as tagging, biopsy sampling, and drone technology to gain a deeper understanding of cetacean behavior and ecology.

She earned a Masters in Polar Science, graduating at the top of her class from the University of Cambridge, where she collaborated with the British Antarctic Survey and Scott Polar Research Institute. She has a keen interest in scientific communication and making complex research accessible for everyone to be able to digest and enjoy. Her research has earned multiple awards at international conferences and has been featured by notable media outlets including National Geographic, IFL Science, CNN, and LiveScience. Eva is a certified Zodiac Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, taking every opportunity possible to further her education and knowledge base.
