Giulia Ciampini
Born in Toronto, Canada, Giulia Ciampini is an intrepid explorer with a deep passion for nature and adventure. An Ontario Certified Teacher, Giulia combines her background in photographic arts, biological sciences, and education. She earned an Honors Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science in Education from D'Youville College, and a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Photography and Film from Ryerson University.
Since 2009, Giulia has worked as a professional photographer and educator at institutions like Vancouver College of Art and Design, Ryerson University, Smithsonian Student Travel, and North Island College, and she has led photography expeditions worldwide. Her profound connection to nature was highlighted by an 11,800-mile road trip across Canada in 2011, exploring 20 national parks and marine conservation areas. This adventure sparked a lasting passion for exploration, leading her to undertake nine more road trips across Canada.
In 2019, Giulia began leading international photography tours, merging outdoor education with adventure travel, biology, and the arts, visiting over 30 countries on 5 continents. She currently serves as a certified photography instructor for Lindblad Expeditions with National Geographic. Additionally, she is an expedition leader with Natural Habitat Adventures in Churchill, Manitoba, guiding guests through transformative experiences with polar bears, beluga whales, and the northern lights. She is a dedicated member of the Canadian Conservation Photography Collective (CCPC).
