Jes Harfeld

Jes hails from rural Jutland in Denmark. Standing six feet, four inches tall, blue eyed and with a red beard, his Viking heritage is undeniable. Throughout his life, he has focused on a the Viking traits of travelling and exploring. The last four years Jes has travelled and guided his way around Greenland from Kulusuk in the East to Uummannaq in the West. His great interests in Greenland are the Viking and Norse history and historical sites, American military history and presence in Greenland and – more than anything else – the extraordinary nature of the Arctic. When he is not standing and talking on a hill top in Greenland or trying to pitch a tent in the Norwegian mountains during a gale Jes is working on a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Aarhus, Denmark.
