Martha Chica

Martha enjoys living in the small, quaint village of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, and has been there since 1995. Her professional experience is related to Public Relations, Environmental Education and for the past six years she has been devoted to Environmental Interpretation in natural protected areas.

Her love for nature motivated Martha’s involvement and commitment to the conservation of the islands. Over the years working in several positions related to this field, she finally became a full-time licensed naturalist guide that has given her the opportunity to share the beauty of Galapagos with visitors.

Martha is proud to be Ecuadorian, and as such she is grateful for the opportunity to show visitors and interpret the natural and iconic beauty of Galapagos, and in this fashion help them understand why the islands were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. She firmly believes that only through knowledge will people be inspired to conserve our world.
