Paul Lazarski

For as long as he can remember, Paul Lazarski has had an affinity for nature. As one of North America's leading nature and landscape photographers, his travels have taken him throughout much of the world. In particular, his photographs of Iceland, Greenland, The Arctic, Scotland, The Bahamas, Belize and over 30 states and provinces were featured by Masterfile, Canada’s most prestigious photo stock agency. His educational programmes are renowned for innovation and creativity, and his reputation as a teacher and impassioned naturalist are well established.

In addition to his photography, Paul has also been a long time “living history” and heritage instructor. Dressed in period costumes from North Americas past, he has focused on trying to open peoples eyes to the truth of our shared histories and to give us a more human perspective of the past. Focusing on the cross cultural experiences of “first contact” and the fur trade are his greatest passions. For over a decade, Paul has been working as a guide and outdoor educator. His area of greatest love is the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia. Paul’s intimate knowledge of this spectacular mountainous area has made him an invaluable resource both as a photographer, historian and naturalist.

Paul’s unique visions of wilderness, history and nature have made him a greatly sought after speaker and motivator! His work has appeared in numerous magazines and publications, including “The Last Wilderness” the defining photo book on wilderness Canada. He has both guided and given presentations to tens of thousands of people the world over, hoping to instill in them the true wonder of the “Natural World” and to bring to them a realistic understanding of our place within it. Paul attempts to show in his photographs what so matters so deeply to himself and hopes to reveal the subtle beauty of nature, a beauty that can be shared by all.
