This morning, we woke up in the beautiful Drake Bay. We boarded our Zodiacs and explored the beautiful Agujitas River on a very nice cruise. We observed colorful flowers and birds along the shorelines of the river. Yellow-crowned night herons, boat-billed herons, and bare-throated tiger herons were some of the morning’s highlights.

The forest has a very unique ecosystem that helps minimize erosion to preserve some of the area’s amazing trees. Some emergent trees surpassed the canopy.

After a delightful morning, we explored Caletas Beach. The buffer zone of Corcovado National Park, this area is considered one of the most intensely biodiverse places. We enjoyed the opportunity to step off the beaten path.
