After a recent night of North Atlantic rock and roll, I think it’s safe to say that we all enjoyed a calm night’s sleep alongside the dock in Akureyri. Early in the morning, we boarded buses and drove to Lake Mývatn, the most geologically active area of Iceland. It was a beautiful sunny day with just the right amount of wind to keep the midges away yet keep our hats on our heads. While we toured, the ship headed to the town of Húsavík, where later we had free time to roam before sailing north toward Grímsey and the Arctic Circle.
