As it is customary onboard the Delfin II, we started our day by getting a wakeup knock on our door, by our always reliable crew. Even though we start in the early morning (to take advantage of the best and coolest hours of the day), the wake up knock on the door found most of us already awake after a great night sleep.

After a spectacularly delicious breakfast, we went back to our rooms to get into our rubber boots (provided by our ship) and go ashore to walk inside of the tropical rainforest.

The place we visited this morning is a privately owned preserve called Amazon Park, where we got into small wooden catamarans for a short ride across a small lake, then walked under humungous trees, to reach a section of the trail above the forest floor on suspension bridges, while always accompanied with our expert naturalist, to look for wildlife and describe the forest to us.

Indeed, we had a great opportunity this morning to experience the very diverse tropical rainforest on different levels.

Midday we spent onboard Delfin II, to reposition to Nauta Caño and to enjoy another incredible meal…no wonder Peruvian cuisine is so internationally acclaimed!

At Caño Nauta, we spent the late afternoon exploring by skiff the densely forested edge of the river, from the comfort of our maneuverable small boats, led by our expert boat-drivers and naturalists, which kept on surprising us with their almost magical ability to discovering wildlife hidden inside of the dense foliage of the forest.
