Today was our first full day of exploration in the Peruvian Upper Amazon, and the first encounters with its unique wildlife and landscapes are unforgettable. In the morning, we visited the Amazon Natural Park, a private reserve that allow visitors to experience the Amazonian canopy as they walk through a system of interconnected suspended bridges. We found monkeys, lizards, insects and learned about the incredible rainforest, its unique wildlife and vegetation as part of a complex and fascinating ecosystem.

Later we came back onboard to enjoy lunch, some siesta time and a short presentation about the Amazonian cultural and natural diversity. Afterwards, we boarded our skiffs to explore Yanayacu and Pucate areas, an incredible tributary where vegetation is reflected on the black waters, while pink and gray dolphins surface all around us as we try to capture a shot of this magical moment. We spotted several species of raptors and birds, including the prehistoric-looking Hoatzin. The last ride back to the boat was the perfect time to enjoy an astonishing sunset.
