Early in the morning we woke up with a beautiful sun over the Aegean Sea. We were cruising south of the Peloponnese when, after breakfast, the sailors starting setting the sails. We were all out on the decks watching them perform with amazing skill while our expedition leader, Tom, explained the whole procedure giving names to all the lines, riggings, and sails. Later in the day we had a lecture in photography by our photo instructor Jose, after which it was lunchtime.

The buffet on the lido deck had so many salads and such fresh fish! This was followed by a very interesting presentation about the languages of the Balkans by Tom Heffernan. We enjoyed sailing until the late afternoon when the deck crew took the sails in and we got ready for the Captain's Welcome Cocktail Party on the lido deck where we were introduced to the officers of the ship. The day ended with a delightful dinner and more cocktails as we listened to the beautiful piano music played by our musician Pieter.
