On Monday, February 17th, we woke up just south of The Gullet to a breathtaking view of Antarctica framed by 40-50 knot winds and waves crashing against the icebergs.
We adjusted our plans, navigating around Adelie Island to head north. This unexpected detour gave us a taste of what the Antarctic weather can be like and truly showed how it can change, compared to the evening before.
The powerful winds and towering waves created an unforgettable Antarctic experience—wild, beautiful, and truly humbling. Imagine how the explores faced these conditions.
