As crew, staff, and guests all busily prepared for the end of our voyage, morning found us in beautiful weather for the Bering Strait traverse. We finished our remarkable twenty-two day run above the Arctic Circle, passing back into the sub-arctic at 09:30am, ship time. By late afternoon, we could see both Big and Little Diomede Islands, simultaneously being able to see Russian and US lands. At 4:38pm, during tea-time, National Geographic Resolution finished the 394th crossing of the Northwest Passage. Since we met in a hotel ballroom in Boston, we’ve covered seven time zones, seen sixteen polar bears, and covered thousands of miles together. Fair winds, shipmates!
