When we awoke today, we were surrounded by beautiful blue ocean. But what country were we in? Yesterday, we were in the Cook Islands. To our west is Niue. Ahead…Samoa. With a few calculations and chart measurements, we figured out we were in America! American Samoan waters, that is. Calm seas and sunny skies made for another beautiful day in paradise.

Avid bow watchers enjoyed some great sightings today. Many seabirds were seen, including petrels, terns, tropicbirds, and boobies. After learning about flying fish, we tried our skills at photographing them. Other strange things were spotted, including a floating green bucket with an oceanic triggerfish underneath it. As the sun went down, we were treated to the incredible music of Kura. Tonight, to add to our confusion, we cross the date line, and Tuesday becomes Thursday!
