It was an exciting day on National Geographic Orion as we said goodbye to Indonesia and made our way to Australia during a fairly calm day at sea. We had a few sightings of sea birds, and the sunrise was truly beautiful.
The day was filled with very entertaining and informative presentations by our field staff, with our National Geographic expert, Kirt Kempter, starting us off in the morning, followed by our ornithologist, Santi, in the afternoon. After a break for our all-important National Geographic Orion fruhschoppen, we enjoyed another lovely presentation by our naturalist, Martin Cohen. We ended the relaxing, information-filled day with a movie after dinner.
