A day spent at sea in the Chilean fjords is not like any other sea day. With more than 15,000 islands stretching from Puerto Montt to Cape Horn, this is certainly one of the most interesting places on the planet to explore.
Soon after sunrise, the morning fog lifted to show a very calm sea as we approached the Taitao Peninsula from the north. The usually choppy waters were extremely kind to us, as shown by the dozens of black-browed albatross relaxing on the calm surface, waiting for the winds to pick up so they could fly. Taking advantage of these fabulous conditions, we tucked into Seno Slight to navigate among little forest-covered islands and observe the magnificent landscape from the outer decks. Eventually, the sun made an appearance and we were able to enjoy the true colors of the land and water.
