Although today was a day at sea, there was no shortage of things to do aboard National Geographic Endurance. We took full advantage of the ship’s amenities, indulging in some relaxation at the spa and browsing the unique finds in the Global Gallery. Our team of naturalists kept us engaged with insightful presentations, preparing us for the days ahead in South Georgia. We also completed an essential biosecurity check, carefully ensuring our outerwear was free of any potential pathogens or invasive species—a crucial step in protecting these fragile ecosystems. The highlight of the day? Sailing past A23b, a colossal tabular iceberg that calved from an ice shelf and is now drifting north. Witnessing its sheer scale and striking beauty was absolutely breathtaking—a spectacular way to kick off a new month!
