The day started with relatively moderate seas and a glimpse of sun, giving us a great opportunity to watch the magnificent seabirds of this part of the world. We stayed on the outer decks and felt the warmth of the sun, which was absolutely delightful. It definitely indicates we are moving toward warmer places.

Guests were entertained by interesting presentations and took advantage of the comfort of National Geographic Endurance as we made our way toward another highlight of the trip, the New Zealand Subantarctic Islands.

As the afternoon approached, the wind picked up. In the evening, we watched as impressive waves crashed around us. The sea is truly magnificent. Birds were still visible, soaring easily in the wind. It was mesmerizing to watch!
