We have been looking forward to this day, when we reach the furthest point of our expedition. Here is where we often see the most special things, and it is an incredibly gorgeous ride.

The water of the Pacaya River appears black, like a mirror, due to the heavy tannins. This effect gets particularly amplified during sunset on our way back. The leafless, white bark trees get reflected beautifully against the heavily clouded sky with hues of blues, oranges and yellows. It is a perfect day for swimming with pink river-dolphins, beer in hand.
