Today we visited one of the youngest islands of the archipelago. Bartolome is located in the central part of the islands, and it features beautiful geology. During our early morning outing, we hiked to the very top of this young volcano and admired one of the most famous landscapes from the summit.
After breakfast, we went snorkeling at the base of Pinnacle Rock, where we found penguins and sharks fishing in the clear waters.
In the afternoon, rain surprised us, and after it cleared up, we had a beautiful Zodiac ride near a mangrove ecosystem. Here we found many baby blacktip sharks, sea turtles, and night herons perching on the branches. The area is full of cacti and land iguanas looking for their fruits. We returned to our boat with the beautiful light of the sunset.
