Today we are visiting two relatively small islands with mighty ecologies on land and along their shorelines. We are starting our day early with a hike of 375 wooden steps to the summit, with beautiful views of many volcanic features, including the world-famous Pinnacle Rock.
After breakfast we enjoyed water activities. We explored via our glass bottom boat, strolled along the beach, and went snorkeling. We were lucky to have warm and clear waters. We saw many fish and underwater creatures and took plenty of pictures to share.
Soon after lunch, National Geographic Endeavour repositioned to Sombrero Chino Island for our second snorkeling, only this time we saw even more fishes (plural for different species of fish) and encountered white-tipped sharks and the long-awaited Galapagos penguin.
We finished back onboard for our briefing and barbecue dinner as we sailed to our final destination.
