During the morning, we went for a skiff ride along the riverbanks of Belluda Creek. We spotted a few yellow and blue macaws flying overhead and a large flock of great egrets searching for catfish.
We had a little light rain during the morning but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our morning exploration with the wildlife of the river and rain forest ecosystem.
We had the chance to also go to a river beach to enjoy some natural exfoliation with mud therapy. Our young explorers enjoyed some refreshing coconut water and splashing in the river beach.
Soon we went back on board and took the dry clay off our bodies and went right out for a late afternoon and night exploration to encounter some howler monkeys. As soon as the night arrived we spotted several reticulated and black caimans of all sizes and ages. The caiman’s eye were very shiny when spotted with the flashlight light from a far distance. We stayed in the area admiring these elegant reptiles, having close encounters with some of them. In our way back we saw some reticulated owls flying in the distance, a few bats and night herons perched on the trees, and owls and bats catching nocturnal insects.
