It's amazing to believe how fast this year passed, and on this journey onboard National Geographic Quest, we had the opportunity to explore the canal rainforest. After we finished our transit through the Panama Canal we continued into the Bay of Panama on the last day of the year 2018.
We dropped anchor close by Bona & Otoque Island where we explored their beauty and birds with two Zodiacs.
We saw magnificent frigate birds, brown boobies, blue-footed boobies, neotropical cormorants, and peregrine falcons. We tried to find some of the chicks of the birds, and then returned to the ship.
We had a great lunch. The crew gave lovely attention by receiving us with a beautiful smile, and then we continued on the way to Coiba, sighting pantropical spotted dolphins, more pelagic birds, and a splendid sunset. We awaited the new year and had a toast to celebrate, all the while having a lot of fun together.
