Today, Lord of the Glens began her journey through the Caledonian Canal. Starting in Fort William, we entered the 60-mile-long canal that cuts through the Great Glen. Guests enjoyed the passage and got the best seat from the bow of the ship. We spent the first part of the day going through the series of locks and sailing through the beautiful lochs.
After lunch, we had the opportunity to walk alongside the canal as Lord of the Glens sailed ahead to dock for the night in Fort Augustus.
We finished the day with another hike that cut through the countryside of Fort Augustus.
It was a spectacular day here in the Highlands of Scotland. We got to see what true human ingenuity is capable of and to keep nature intact while doing so.
