Overnight, we made our way to “Cabo de Hornos,” which defines the end of the South American continent and the beginning of the famous Drake’s Passage. Due to weather and sea conditions, a landing was not possible. Captain Oliver and his crew got us very close along the shore for a scenic navigation around Cape Horn.
While sailing back to the eastern entrance of the Beagle Channel, we listened to various presentations by the naturalists. Once inside the channel, we encountered lots of wildlife in the sky and in the sea before we registered back to Argentina to continue our journey on National Geographic Endurance.
During transit, Chef Sara treated us with wine and cheese on deck 8 for her birthday! Our evening was capped off with a viewing of the historical movie Around Cape Horn.
