We woke up early this morning at the living paradise of the Amazon Basin, and the sounds of nature that were heard all over the area made us feel that we were in paradise. A magical concert of bird callings made it seem like we were within a nature sanctuary. At the same moment, the sun was rising over the trees that decorated the magical Amazonian landscape.  A delightful breakfast on board Delfin II was the perfect way to begin our journey, and as soon as we finished, we got everything ready to explore.

The morning activities continued with a visit to Casual.  The local people had prepared for our arrival and brought us right into nature.  During exploration, surprises of different kinds made for splendorous sightings.  Poison dart frogs and brown tarantulas were only part of the astonishments in front of us. The presence of a red tail boa found inside the jungle was something that captured our attention.  At the end of the trail, a green anaconda wrapped around a branch made for a magical photo moment.

In the afternoon our expedition continued to Yanayacu River.  A marvelous skiff ride brought us deep into one of the most awe-inspiring sections of the Upper Amazon.  Black collared hawks perching on trees, caped herons, lesser kiskadees, and great egrets were the perfect representations of the area.  A surprise found at the farthest point of the stream was the presence of several red-capped cardinals that were feeding inside the bushy plants.

On our way back to Delfin II, the sky was painted by lovely purple and orange colors thanks to a charming Amazonian sunset.  Exploration of the Amazon Basin always presents surprises; the most unexpected events could happen, and the most magical things could be seen at any moment. Tomorrow our expedition continues in order to enjoy the wonders that this charming place has to offer.
