This was our first full day of Expedition, and it was an amazing way to start our Amazon experience. We woke up early to explore Pahuachiro, aiming to take advantage of the bird activity and the great light conditions for photography. We came back for breakfast, and later on, we moved to Casual. Here, we hiked along a trail that is managed by a local community. With the help of our local guides, we had wonderful encounters with snakes, tarantulas, and a very cute and active three-toed sloth. After lunch, we visited Yanayacu river, an area where we spotted two species of freshwater dolphins: the grey and the pink dolphin. Although it rained for a few minutes, that was just part of the whole rainforest experience. On our way back, an astonishing sunset with two rainbows made the perfect finale.
