Last night Delfin II sailed to our destination for today to visit the Casual area and the Nauta Caño. Early this morning we left the ship to explore by skiff another one of the many tributaries of the Amazon River. The morning weather was fantastic! The cool air hit our faces as the skiffs sped up the river under the raising sunlight.

After a successful exploration full of many more new species to add to our life lists, we returned to the ship for a delicious breakfast, and to prepare for our next outing by foot, on a trail called Casual. Here, led by our knowledgeable guides and aided with the help of local scouts, we got to explore the tropical rainforest up-close. The local scouts were particularly helpful in finding a lot of little creatures the live in the dense forest floor, such as many species of insects, arachnids, frogs and lizards.

The tropics are indeed an incredible ecosystem.
