We continue with our expedition in the Galápagos aboard National Geographic Endeavour by visiting two different islands, Santa Cruz and Daphne Major.

Dragon Hill was our first site of the day. It’s located on northwestern Santa Cruz Island, and consists of a trail that runs through an arid forest full of prickly pear cactus and palo santo trees. This site was a perfect place for our nature hike - our guests were able to explore a coastal ecosystem as well as a land ecosystem. So many land iguanas were found that we lost count!

Later in the morning we headed up to an eroded tuff cone located in open sea off the coast of Santa Cruz, and deep-water snorkeling was the activity done at this site. The water conditions were awesome for a show of the Galápagos underwater world. Many fish and sea lions accompanied us during all the snorkeling and a solitary playful penguin showed up and followed the snorkelers for a long time.

In the afternoon, we organized Zodiac rides, kayaking, and Zodiac driving lessons for our younger explorers. The northern coast of Santa Cruz at Eden Islet was the best place to do all of these activities, and all of our guests had an amazing time exploring the marvelous flora and fauna of the area.

We finished our day with a sunset cocktail while the ship circumnavigated Daphne Major Islet. This was for sure another day in paradise at the Enchanted Islands!
