It is the last day of the expedition, and National Geographic Islander is anchored in Floreana Island, the perfect place to get more surprises. We started the day with an early morning walk in Punta Cormorant where we found beautiful flamingos feeding in a brackish lagoon. After breakfast, we took a Zodiac ride along Champion Bay to spot some red-billed tropicbirds and sea lions along the coast. Afterword, we jumped into the water to do some snorkeling – there were sharks, sea lions, sea stars and millions of fish. It created quite a painting for us!
After lunch, we went to Post Office Bay and took part in the tradition of hand delivering some postcards back home. Finally, during our kayaking and Zodiac rides inside the turquoise waters of the bay, we saw swimming next to sea turtles and sea lions, the Galapagos penguin. The perfect way to end this expedition.
