After breakfast, guests disembarked the ship for a variety of activities in Idaho Inlet and Canyon Creek. Bushwhack and moderate hikes, photo walks, kayaking and paddle boarding rounded a fun-filled morning. We had a particularly eventful lunch when a yearling humpback calf started breaching right beside the dining room windows!
Following lunch, guests joined the natural history staff aboard the Zodiacs for tours around the Inian Islands. We were entertained by humpback whales, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, and sea otters, as they frolicked in the rich waters of Cross Sound.
As we gathered for evening recap, our photo instructor shared photos from the day. As he showed us a picture of the breaching humpback whale calf that entertained us at lunch time, the same young whale reappeared beside the ship to steal the show once again. All were quite happy to skip re-cap to watch the whale breach a few more times!
