Our day started with a pre breakfast Zodiac ride along the canal between James and Chinese Hat Islands. Some of our guests went on kayaks and found the activity a great way to get close to the fauna without bothering it with unnecessary noise. After a healthy breakfast we snorkeled the shore of James Island where sea stars, white tip reef sharks and lots of small fish were found. As we sailed away we spotted flamingoes in a crater off Bainbridge Islands.
In the afternoon we walked a recent Pahoe-Hoe Lava field from an eruption from 1897 where just a few plants have settled during these 120 years. After the visit we spotted several Galapagos penguins on the shore of Bartholomew Island.
