This morning we cruised through Chatham Strait looking for whales and we were richly rewarded. We found a pod of killer whales, individual humpbacks, a group of “bubble net feeding” humpbacks, a female and her breeching calf, and several other humpbacks that breeched for us as well. It was an incredible morning.

In the afternoon we hiked the Lake Eva trail and marveled at the spectacular rain forest. Salmon swam in the stream and bald eagles flew overhead while kayakers were visited by harbor seals in the bay. After the landing, Christine and I enjoyed a fabulous dive on a nearby rock.
