Our journey takes a turn towards the open ocean as we navigate towards the Isle of Youth, a place of incredible history. As we float upon this Caribbean Sea and the winds blows at our starboard quarter as we spot land in the distance. Calm seas and the occasional tern follow us as the intermittent Sargassum seaweed float drifts by. Our photo instructor Jennifer gives us an in-depth talk about the intricacies of photography showing us how a different angle is always an education. As the gentle movement of this ocean is below us Daniel, cultural guide and Cuban gives us the history of Cuba allowing us to understand the details of this amazing society. Navigation continues as we gradually close in to the southern keys and the Isle of Youth. Education continues as we learn how to use our most basic photographic equipment to capture remarkable daily images. The cultural learning continues with Daniel as he teaches us the art of domino playing which is somewhat of a national pastime.  Anchoring off of the Isla de Juventud we watch as the light falls into the horizon and we realize that this is a place of wonders.
