Our guests started their first day of the expedition with a lovely stretch class on the sundeck as the sun was warming up Magdelena Bay. The bridge team of National Geographic Sea Bird brought us to El Barril from San Carlos where we spent the morning kayaking among the mangroves.
Back on board, the guests had their first photography class with our photo instructor Lisa Hornak. In the afternoon, we enjoyed the wildlife from the bow as we navigated the Canal de Soledad followed by a presentation on mangrove ecosystems from one of our naturalists, Melissa Heres. In the evening, just before sunset, we had our first walk through the sand dunes in Lopez Mateos followed by a Mexican fiesta complete with live music and a dance performance. What a fantastic and unforgettable day!
