Today’s adventure took us into the heart of Alaska’s Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness Area and Endicott Arm under stunningly sunny skies. Our morning began with exhilarating Zodiac tours into the icy expanse of Dawes Glacier. The clear weather offered unobstructed views of the glacier’s majestic blue ice and cascading icefalls.
As we maneuvered through the ice-filled waters, we were treated to a few dramatic calving events, where massive chunks of ice thundered into the fjord. Harbor seals were spotted lounging on the ice, blending seamlessly with their surroundings, while playful porpoises darted through the water, adding to the day’s excitement.
The afternoon was spent soaking in the grandeur of the glacier and the surrounding landscape. The sunlight illuminated the glacier's vibrant hues and created a mesmerizing contrast against the rugged terrain.
As evening fell, the sunset cast a golden glow over the icy wilderness, capping off a truly unforgettable day of exploration and natural beauty.
