Unforeseen wind temporarily blew us off course today. We started by anchoring in a protected bay known as Ensenada Grande (Big Bay). Impressive geology and turquoise hued water made this an idyllic spot to spend the morning. We explored by land and sea with hikes and expedition landing craft tours. The pursuit of island endemics kept us interested throughout our excursions. Birdsong permeated the landscape and prompted further investigation.

We swam with curious and active California sea lions at Los Islotes in the afternoon. This was an unforgettable highlight for many guests. Along with expedition landing craft cruises along the shore, it was a wonderful way to conclude our week’s expedition.
