The first full day of exploration in the Galapagos Islands was on Española Island.
This island is different from most of the others because of its high percentage of endemism. Most of the land birds and some seabirds are found nowhere else in the archipelago, nor the rest of the world.
In the morning we visited Gardner Bay where we snorkelled and spent some time at the beach. In the afternoon we moved to a spectacular place for birds called Punta Suarez.
