Our journey begins as we awaken in turquoise waters that surround our floating home in this “world upon itself.” We start our day by exploring the undersea world, which is a surprise for all as this three-dimensional marine environment has an abundance of life. Sea lions frolic among us, blowing bubbles and grabbing fins among schools of fish.
We eventually land at Gardner Bay Beach where we find a bright coralline sand beach with Española mockingbirds flitting about and Galapagos sea lions lazing about. A short navigation takes us to Punta Suarez and an incredible afternoon hike. Colorful marine iguanas warm themselves upon the rocks and sea lion pups chase each other in the shallow water, surfing on the small waves. Nazca boobies surround us on the trail and a red billed tropic flies overhead with the ever present Española mockingbirds following us on the path. The sun heads home, leaving us with a beautiful sunset.
