By sunrise, we were out the door, into pangas, and headed to shore. Gardner Bay in the morning was spectacular, the early morning light perfect for photography. The white sand had brown sea lions sprinkled along the waterline, and the waves were light, creating wonderful reflections as they drew down.
In the afternoon we sailed a short distance to Punta Suarez, passed through a heavy but short downpour, then went for a hike when the sun came out. The rocks on the trail were dry and for a few hours we were immersed, surrounded by an extraordinary wildlife hotspot within an archipelago known for its outstanding wildlife encounters.
