We are back on Española Island after nearly a year and a half, and it feels wonderful to visit with the iconic Galapagos sea lions, Galapagos hawks, and mockingbirds on the white sand beach!
In the morning, we had great weather for snorkeling at Gardner Bay, joined by friendly sea lion pups and tropical fish of all sizes. In the afternoon, we explored Punta Suarez on the western side of Española Island. We are here in the right season because waved albatrosses are nesting all around, as well as Nazca boobies and swallow-tailed gulls. As we explored the shore, the numbers of marine iguanas and sea lions fascinated us. It seems that these months with no people have been a relaxing break.
What a great opportunity to be back and exploring the Enchanted Islands!
