Fernandina & Isabela Island is a part of the archipelago with one the most active volcanos in the Galapágos and little human impact on its environment.
This area also has enough nutrients to support the largest congregation of marine iguanas, seventy percent of the Galapágos’ penguin population, and the whole population of Galapágos flightless cormorants. Additionally, this part of the archipelago has the best chances to see large animals, such as: whales, dolphins, sea lions, and turtles. And, so far we have seen nearly all of these animals.
The geology here is also very impressive because these islands are considered the youngest geology formation in the Galapágos. This part of the Galapágos has active volcanos and it is not rare to expect volcanic activity almost every couple of years. In fact, the most recent was only a few months ago.
