The Western Isles of the Galápagos Archipelago always appear mysterious, thanks to the imposing and majestic silhouettes of their shield volcanoes in the early morning mist. This is a remote area of Las Enchantadas, and it takes a long navigation to reach it. Both Fernandina and Isabela are the youngest islands of the archipelago, so new that Sierra Negra Volcano, in the south, is still erupting since June 26th, with a couple of small vents producing new rocks not far from the coast. Fernandina and Isabela are almost pristine islands, with amazing wildlife that definitely captivated everyone.
