The Galápagos Islands expedition brought us today to one of the most mystical places of the archipelago: Floreana Island. The best way to begin exploring was to get in a pre-breakfast hike in order to visit Punta Cormorant. Ever since our arrival we were received by the wonders of nature, as young Galápagos sea lions were found all over the sandy area. The color contrast of the sand against the green vegetation made it perfect for a charming picture moment.  Farther into the trail, we arrived at a magical place decorated by a marvelous brackish water lagoon.  Inside the lagoon we had the presence of one of the most iconic birds of the archipelago: greater flamingos.  The marvels of the place were displayed as soon as we reached the other side of the isthmus and reached the farthest point of the trail and found a magnificent white sand beach.  The calling of land birds played the magical symphony of nature as we were heading back in order to take Zodiacs to the National Geographic Endeavour.

The next part of our exploration was to experience the magnificence of the Galápagos marine reserve in deep water snorkeling activity. Once in the water, the ornaments of nature were displayed in a color combination of reef fishes, benthic marine life, and a deep blue sea. Once we reached the cliff area, we witnessed one of the most emblematic of marine species: white-tipped reef sharks. As we got to the farthest point of the snorkeling site, we enjoyed our time swimming with young Galápagos sea lions. The way they swam around us and blew bubbles at our faces made it perfect for an attractive snorkeling activity. Once exploration of Galápagos marine reserve was over, it was time to pull anchor in order to navigate to our next destination: Post Office Bay.

In the afternoon the adventure just got better, and the best way to begin was to explore the coast line by Zodiac riding. The coastal ecosystem had a lot of surprises to show: Galápagos sea lions moving from place to place, great blue herons hunting their prey from the rocks, and a few Galápagos penguins swimming around.

The visit to Post Office Bay was completed with the postcard exchange in the barrel in order to keep this old tradition alive.  At the end, we enjoyed a marvelous sunset that told us we still have more to see in the upcoming days.  It couldn’t get better at the living paradise of the Galápagos Islands.
