Our journey started in the early hours of the day on the island of Floreana. We went ashore on a green colored beach at Cormorant Point. This place has a one of the most important nesting sites of the green sea turtles; these reptiles are protected in the archipelago and around this time of the year their mating season is ending. As we walked on the cinder trail along the shore of a lagoon we saw a few greater flamingoes at the distance.

After this great nature walk we returned aboard and navigated towards Champion Islet. On this islet we went on a Zodiac ride along its coast to look for the very rare Charles mockingbird, Galapagos sea lions, Nazca boobies, red-billed tropic birds, and swallow-tailed gulls. Later in the morning we went snorkeling in deep waters and found large schools of fish, green sea turtles, white-tipped reef sharks, and mobula rays. For our guests who decided not to snorkel, we had our glass bottom boat and from it we got to see the marine wildlife of the archipelago.

During lunch time we changed location. When we arrived at Post Office Bay we had several activities such as kayaking, Zodiac rides, and also a landing where we had the opportunity to “send” mail in a wooden barrel. This was the same system used by whalers form the late 1700s. We ended our day with a great sunset on Floreana Island.
