Waking up in Fortuna Bay, guests were eager to get ashore in the hope of witnessing a king penguin colony up close. After breakfast we disembarked and hiked to the colony. The harmonic calls of thousands of penguins are something that can only truly be experienced in person.

After lunch, the bridge team repositioned the ship across the bay so we could tackle a section of the Shackleton hike. Although the winds were blowing, guests were in high spirits and enjoyed the challenge. We then returned to the ship for a well-deserved cocktail and an extra dessert or two at dinner.
