Drake Passage:

The Caledonian Star has enjoyed three very easy crossings of the Drake Passage this season thus far. As we prepared to depart Antarctica last evening there was some anticipation of finally having to "pay the piper" and suffer a rough crossing north this time. Today, however, dawned bright and sunny, winds not too bad and only residual swell from a low pressure system that just passed by the day before still in effect.

These conditions made for an exciting ride at the bow as it rode up and down the ocean swells, occasionally throwing spray across the foredecks. Second officer Stefan Sorensson enjoys the view from the side bridge where he can stay nice and dry.
