Having arrived in La Palma in the Canary Islands around mid-day, we toured through the town and then made a short stop at one of the lovely historical churches.

Most of us were surprised at the landscape spread out and below us when we arrived at the La Cumbrecita overlook. Caldera de Taburiente drops over 2,500 feet. The scenery was spectacular, with the hills and slopes vegetated with the native Canary Island pine.

Most of us took a leisurely walk along the path where we could enjoy the scenery, sunshine, and see some of the native birds.
