Today was a relaxing day as we continued cruising in a southwesterly direction. We had three talks during the day by the ship's staff.

David Barnes discussed the early European explorers of the Atlantic. On this very voyage we are visiting islands where many of the explorers stayed, and our route follows the one taken to the New World.

Later in the day we also had a very informative talk about the Cape Verde Islands to prepare us for our visit tomorrow. The third talk was an extremely interesting and light-hearted presentation by Lyall Watson on "gourmet entomology."

In the early evening the galley and crew prepared a delightful barbecue feast that was served under tropical skies on the back deck. It was quite a festive evening with our Maestro Ziggy a wandering minstrel, playing the accordion and singing.
