Bartolome and Santiago Islands

What a great day we experienced today; we started by having a pre-breakfast outing, climbing to the top of Bartolome Island. This island is known for its geology and its world famous pinnacle rock; as soon as we arrived to the top we were astounding by the array of volcanic features. And then suddenly, we spotted a pod of bottle nose dolphins fishing; it was an unexpected experience which everybody welcomed. The morning was perfect, sunny and nice with a calming breeze.

We came back on board to have a delicious breakfast and afterwards we were ready for disembarking on a wonderful golden sandy beach. Exploring the southern beach of Bartolome, we had found a large school of white tipped reef sharks swimming along of the shore. We then went back to the first beach where we had disembarked for swimming and snorkeling and we spotted a couple of penguins while they were fishing on small sardines. The weather was great and our guests enjoyed the last day in this marvelous island.

Back to the ship for lunch, we weighed anchor and started to sail heading to Santiago Island. We got to Puerto Egas and our guests went to snorkel in a black sand beach along Galápagos sea lions. The afternoon was a perfect reminder of the wonders of this archipelago.

Our expedition has come to an end but this wonderful week will stay with us for ever.

Warm feelings in our souls at sunset…
